At the core of Sync lie three essential building blocks: styles, products, and jobs. Together, these define what a brand makes, how it’s produced, and how it’s tracked from concept to customer.

What Are Products and Styles?

A style represents the creative and technical blueprint of a garment — its design, & classifying details.
A product, is the commercial item/finishednihed good/garment derived from that style — the actual SKU that’s sold in a specific colour, size, or variation.

For example:

  • Style: Men’s Classic Cycling Jersey

  • Products:

    • Men’s Classic Jersey – Red – Small

    • Men’s Classic Jersey – Red – Medium

    • Men’s Classic Jersey – Blue – Large

Each product variant inherits its core attributes from the style, but with specific inventory data attached.

Introducing the Concept of a Job

All Styles are 'housed' within a Job. The job then houses the operational execution of producing/ procuring that style in specific quantities, colors, and sizes.

A job (sometimes called a work order or production run) is the link between the style and the physical product.
It represents the actual manufacturing or buy-in activity — whether in-house or outsourced — that turns raw materials into finished garments.

*Depending on unique internal business processes Jobs may only have a single style/ colorway or multiple colorways.

Each job typically includes:

  1. Products (Style in a specific colorway) – design being produced/ bought

  2. Images - Images of the garment for referencence or to use on B2b / B2C sites.

  3. Sizes/Units - How many units per color and size are being manufactured/ purchased.

  4. Style Costing - Full BOM (Bill of Materials) for manufacturing or limited BOM for Buy-In/Imports

  5. Product Purchase Orders (PPO's) - Orders for the finished garments against which stock is received

  6. Product Inventory- SKU level detail on your stock position

  7. Sales Orders- Customer orders for the Finished Garment/ Product

For Manufacturing businesses, the Job may also include

  1. Dates - Production & delivery dates
  2. Steps - Critical path/ Task lines to track manufacturing milestones along with who should be completing what when
  3. Purchase Orders (PO's) - Orders for the raw materials required to make up the finished garment
  4. Stock - inventory detail on raw materials ordered for production of the product

  5. Stock Picked (Materials issued/picked) – Fabric, trims, packaging etc. consumed for manufacture/ production of the garment/ product.

  6. Measurements Garment dimensions used for QA

  7. CMT Operations (Work-study) - production process steps, timing & minute rating

  8. Production Details - details of the main production steps/ phases and how many units have completed each phase

  9. Quality Audits - QA check points & outcomes

  10. Tech Pack - Tech Pack report specifying manufacture details
