The article outlines difference between multi-item and single item X-references and how to convert from one to the other.
Single item X-Reference headers allow only one X-Reference item to be added while multi-item X-Reference headers allow multiple X-Reference items to be added.

FOLLOW STEPS BELOW:
1. Under Navigation Pane, expand 'X-References'
2. Select 'X-References'
3. Select X-Reference header you would like change to single or multi-item
4. Right click and select 'Edit'
5. Tick or untick Multi-Item
NB: When changing an X-Reference header from multi-item to single item, only the first X-Reference item will be kept. All other X-Reference items will be removed from the header.
