This article outlines how the ‘Access Cost Summary’ Permission is used on Sync.
DESCRIPTION:
This permission allows a user to access and view the Summary Tab within a Job/Style. The Summary Tab provides a consolidated view of:
- Product costing – Product and Total Cost
- Income summary – Including the Selling Price, Exchange Rate and Units
- Job turnover – total financial movement within the job/style
- Actual gross profit (GP) – Budgeted profitability
ACCESS CONTROL:
- With Permission: Users can view all financial data within the Summary Tab.
- Without Permission: Users cannot access the Summary Tab and will be restricted from viewing cost summaries and financial insights.
IMPACT:
- Removing this permission restricts a user from viewing key financial metrics related to job costing, turnover, and profitability.
- It ensures that only authorized personnel have visibility into cost-sensitive data.
DEPENDENCIES AND CONSIDERATIONS:
- This permission does not grant access to edit cost-related information; it is for viewing only.
- If a user needs to manage the Reject Rate % at a Job level for local manufacturing, they must have permission to Access Cost Summary. Otherwise, a predetermined reject rate % can be set and applied automatically.
- Access to this information should align with role-based access control (RBAC) policies to maintain data security and confidentiality.
