The article outlines the steps to add a new Cost Sub-Type within Sync ‘Administration’. Note that you will need to have permission to Administration to access this function.


PURPOSE

The purpose of this guide is to assist users in accurately creating and configuring new Cost Sub-Types under specific Cost Types within the Sync Admin Portal. This ensures consistent cost tracking, categorization, and reporting across the system.

FOLLOW STEPS BELOW:

 

1. From within the Sync Homepage, click on the ‘File’ Icon

2. Select ‘Admin Portal’

3. Click on ‘Cost Types’

4. Within Cost Types click on the specific Cost Type that the Sub-Type needs to be added within e.g. ‘Trims’

5. Click on the ‘Add’ Icon. This will open a new Sub-Type Window

6. Sync auto generates a code. If required this can be amended

7. Capture the description of the item

8. Update the ‘Unit Type’

9. Capture the ‘Unit cost’


ADDITIONAL NOTES

Only users with Admin rights can access this function.

Ensure that all fields are accurately filled to avoid discrepancies in cost reporting.

If unsure about the unit type or cost, consult your finance or procurement team.

Once a Cost Sub-Type is linked to a Job/Style, it cannot be deleted. Instead, the Sub-Type must be set to Inactive to prevent future use.
